The international art exhibition “Harmony in Diversity, Beauties for Everyone” ran from August 21 – October 7, 2021 at Qingdao Sculpture Museum, Shandong province. The Qingdao Sculpture Museum, located at the far west of the magnificent Qingdao Sculpture Park, is one of the most popular museums in China. The Museum displays wonderful artworks by contemporary Chinese and foreign creators.
Adhering to the Belt & Road’s spirit peaceful cooperation, openness and tolerance, mutual learning, mutual benefit and win–win results, the exhibition was aimed at fostering cultural and artistic exchange, cross-cultural awareness and understanding as well as creating a new platform for international cooperation between countries included in the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Art Invitational Exhibition brought together 49 artworks of 34 artists from the BRI countries of the 21st century: Japan, South Korea, Southeast and South Asian countries such as Bangladesh, Myanmar, Indonesia Malaysia and India, even Switzerland, western part of Eurasia, as well as Costa Rica in Latin America. The Exhibition also consisted of 73 works of Chinese artists and sculptors.
With the efforts of Armenian Chinese Partnership center, 15 thematic works of 11 Armenian artists were displayed as well. The wonderful artworks presented diverse artistic styles, languages and demands of world culture and art. The artists’ works from different regions, cultures and civilizations brought a visual feast for cultural exchanges and mutual learning, reflecting the spirit of the BRI.
